  • The average person throws away 0.91 pounds of food waste a day.
  • Food waste in landfills creates methane, a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
  • We partner with
    • A local composting facility to turn your food scraps into healthy soil.
    • We are partnering with the OHSWA to broaden the impact of this energy-producing capacity in our community, while reducing unnecessary growth of local landfills.
      • The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority (OHSWA) has ways to capture methane, as featured in Google’s 2017 Environmental Report.*
      • In 2019, the OHSWA will begin operation of a state-of-the-art system of capturing 100% of methane from food waste and using it to produce energy (Anaerobic Metabolizing).
  • When you use our services you make a direct impact on local environmental sustainability.
